Kingfisher Bay Resort has a fantastic full time opportunity for a friendly Events Manager to join their fun and supportive team on Fraser Island.
In this role, you'll be responsible for the operational and day to day running of conferences, banquets and events. This will involve maximising client satisfaction whilst maintaining profitability and the standards of a 4 star resort.
More specifically, your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensuring high guest satisfaction and coordinating and executing events in an efficient and professional manner, including planning and organising activities to run smoothly and within company guidelines;
- Developing and maintaining links with the Food & Beverage and Rooms Division;
- Following up all enquiries in a timely and professional manner;
- Maintaining written and verbal communication with clients ensuring a high standard of record keeping;
- Managing clients accounts/folios in line with partnership agreement, credit and resort policies;
- Actively sourcing and developing new business from local and further reaching markets;
- Managing contractual agreements and building effective internal & external working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, suppliers and project partners; and
- Preparing correspondence and reports on event activities, and reporting as required.
Ideally, you will have previous management experience in an Events, Wedding or Conferencing role, with tertiary qualifications in Event Management.
To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated, passionate and honest individual with exceptional customer service and organisational skills. You'll be able to stay professional in a fast paced team environment and will possess a 'can do attitude' and the ability to work unsupervised and make decisions within set guidelines. You'll be a quick learner with experience in problem solving and in dealing with difficult customers as well as having the flexibility to work outside normal operating hours when required.
To succeed, you must have demonstrated experience in developing successful policies and procedures, with the ability to sell and coordinate events and develop ideas. You must also be results orientated, with the ability to lead others to achieve objectives.
The ideal applicant will have previous experience in Front Office and Food & Beverage, and while not essential, knowledge of Maxial and ResPAK will be highly regarded.
