About the Opportunity
St. George’s School is seeking experienced and dedicated Security Personnel to join their team, based in Vancouver, BC.
Within this pivotal, part-time position, you will ensure the safety of students, faculty, staff, and guests while protecting school property and assets.
Working Saturday and Sunday shifts, from 2pm until midnight, your specific responsibilities will include:
- Conducting security patrols without direct supervision;
- Operating state-of-the-art CCTV systems;
- Providing a visible presence on campus;
- Monitoring all areas (inside and outside) for unusual or suspicious individuals and hazardous or unsafe conditions;
- Detecting any problems and reporting information to appropriate personnel;
- Following, and enforcing safety codes, regulations, and procedures;
- Writing comprehensive reports and maintaining proper records; and
- Participating in shift work (daytime, evenings, weekends, holidays and statutory holidays), on call.
To qualify for this role, you must have at least 1 year of experience in a security or military position coupled with valid Basic Security Training Certification (BST).
Additionally you will have a valid BC Driver's Licence (Class 5 or 1), with a clean driver's abstract and be able to successfully pass a criminal record check.
St. George’s School is looking for well-groomed, customer-service oriented individuals who present a professional image to the public. You will have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, plus you will be proficient with computers, especially the MS Office Suite.
Candidates with previous experience in an educational institution will be held in high regard, as will those with First Aid training.
