About the Opportunity
Centacare has a fantastic opportunity for a full time Program Team Leader to join their dynamic team in Mount Isa.
In this pivotal role reporting to the Deputy Director, you will provide leadership and management to team members and programs across Centacare's services.
Some of your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Ensuring that the team and its programs operate in accordance with the mission of Centacare, Catholic Diocese of Townsville;
- Coordinating program service delivery, and associated reporting and performance management of staff;
- Line managing staff in a supportive, organised and flexible manner, including ensuring the communication of organisational decisions, policies and procedures;
- Obtaining expert knowledge of the program/s’ service delivery and modeling a consistent professional approach to all duties;
- Monitoring program staffing needs and leading the recruitment of program staff; and
- Developing the annual program business plan, and complying with legislation, service agreement and Quality Management requirements.
Centacare is seeking a candidate who holds a tertiary degree in Social Work or Business or a related discipline, coupled with several years experience in the social/community services sector. To be successful, you will also need demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, and will require demonstrated knowledge of the relevant legislation and service delivery as they relate to the team and its programs.
To be considered, you will require exceptional and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. This will include the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, to monitor and support staff in skills development, to undertake complex problem solving and performance management, and to write clear and accurate reports.
Ideally, you will also be a highly organised individual with effective time management and administrative skills, and the demonstrated ability to prioritise and work accurately to strict time frames.
You will be required to hold a current driver's licence, and must have, or be willing to obtain, a Positive Notice for Child Related Employment from the Commission for Children, Young People and Child Guardian. A willingness and ability to regularly travel to local outreach communities and interstate is also required.
