About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Pathologist's Assistant, Histopathology Department to work in their laboratory at Taringa.
Sullivan Nicolaides is looking for a challenge-driven individual to be a member of their team responsible for specimen receipt, dissection and processing of a wide variety of tissue types including simple, non-complex and complex specimens.
The position is responsible to the Supervisor, Dissection and works closely with Pathologists, Pathology Trainees and staff in all areas of the department.
The central laboratory supports all Sullivan Nicolaides Histopathology laboratories throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales and processes around 2500 slides per day, with 80 staff including 20 Histopathologists.
The successful applicant will have a qualification of Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science, MBBS or appropriate qualifications and experience. Membership of the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants is desirable.
To be successful in this role the candidate will have proven knowledge, expertise and experience in dissection of simple, non-complex and complex specimens, along with excellent coordination and interpersonal skills and a passion to maintain high standards of quality.
