The Queensland Varley Site is based in Virginia employing approximately 100 people. At Virginia they build Specialised, Mining, Health and Emergency Vehicles providing a complex manufacturing environment.
About the Opportunity
Due to expanding workloads and recent growth, Varley has exciting opportunities for three experienced Trade Supervisors – an Auto Electrician Supervisor, Project Supervisor (Vehicle Body Building) and Spray Painter/Body Builder to join their Virginia based team in Brisbane.
Reporting to the Production Manager, these roles will manage projects to deliver quality completed products which meet customer expectations on time and under budget in an ethical and safe manner.
More specifically your duties will include:
- Leading the team to achieve quality and budgeted outcomes;
- Representing the company to existing and potential customers with view of growing the business; and
- Participating in project design, progress review and meetings.
The successful candidates for all three roles will require trade qualifications with solid supervisory experience along with the technical knowledge to interpret drawings and specifications. Your leadership and communications skills including your ability to promote safe work practices on the job will be essential to your success in these positions.
Additional experience is required for each role, including:
- Auto Electrician Supervisor – 12 volt design experience
- Project Supervisor – Vehicle body building or similar work experience
- Spray Painter/Body Builder – extensive spray paint and body building supervisory experience. Ideally you will have previously owned your own business or worked in a similar management role.

- Project Supervisor - $70,000 - $80,000
- Auto Electrician Supervisor - $70,000 - $80,000
- Spray Paint/ Body Builder - $60,000 - $65,000
You will receive initial training (induction to systems and processes) plus ongoing professional development opportunities negotiable and supported by Varley. These are all full-time positions working 5 days a week (approximately 40 hours).
