About the Opportunity
Flight Centre Limited's diverse Technology team is industry renowned and continuing to grow at a rapid rate. To help support their growth, Flight Centre Technology is looking for a talented Front End Web Developer with strong skills in html, css and javascript to join their Brisbane team.
Based in the company's global head office in Queen Street, this is a fantastic opportunity to use your coding ability to be involved in the online presence of some of Australia's most viewed websites.
Within this role, your primary purpose will be to build and operate Flight Centre's websites and solutions while providing technical leadership to the Web development team.
More specifically, some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing the front-end for high profile, high traffic websites;
- Following best practice web standards, policies and processes across all digital environments;
- Working across various teams and closely with producers, designers and other developers; and
- Working in a team format in terms of issues effecting maintenance, enhancements and day to day support.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in HTML and CSS
- Excellent Javascript knowledge
- Experience with jQuery, AJAX
- Strong communication skills
You will have outstanding communication and organisational skills in addition to a high attention to detail. You will be able to present ideas logically and clearly as you manage customer expectations and build productive relationships.
Flight Centre Limited is looking for an innovative and competent website specialist who preferably has experience in building and operating websites in a commercial environment as well as strong skills in HTML, CSS, Javascript /JQuery, AJAX and XML/XSL. You will also have a proven ability to rapidly cross skill into an alternate technology stack.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- IT related tertiary qualification
- HTML5
- CSS3
- Interested in mobile web development
- Setting up and configuring sites in apache
- Development of database driven software
- Server-side technologies (preferably PHP)
- Experience in using wordpress
Knowledge in the usability and best practice web design and experience in large internal and external development teams would be highly regarded.
