Founded in 1886 as a general engineering business, Southcott Pty Ltd has expanded extensively from its original factory site in Adelaide and now operates Australia wide sales offices and service centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle, Mackay, Devonport, Emerald and Perth.
They became involved in hydraulics in 1954 and is still the only Australian manufacturer of the complex axial piston pumps and motors. They also have state of the art facilities for hydraulic equipment manufacture including complex manifold circuits and a wide range of hose coupling swaging machines up to 500 tonne capacity.

About the Opportunity
If you're an ambitious and experienced Internal Sales Consultant, Southcott has an excellent opportunity for you to join their dynamic team in Perth on a full time basis. Working 43 hours per week, this role is 100% office based, with the office located just 19km from the CBD.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll be responsible for handling telephone inquiries and converting them to sales. This will involve maintaining relationships with existing customers and developing similar relationships with new customers.
Some of your key duties will include:
- Fielding inbound calls from external customers for price quotations and purchase orders;
- Checking on credit status of customers;
- Data entry of sales orders and order processing;
- Utilising the VAX system for stock ordering and volume tracking;
- Delivering high level customer support to external customers to give them the best possible service;
- Maintaining and updating knowledge of existing and new products; and
- Following up on inquires to convert to sales and service potential.
To be considered, you'll need to have several years internal sales experience within the hydraulics industry, combined with exceptional customer services skills within a high volume environment. In addition, you'll require previous experience dealing with an extensive product range and a strong understanding of technical products and services and stock management.
Southcott is seeking a disciplined 'self starter', who possesses superior written and verbal communication skills, an excellent phone manner and the ability to influence and build strong business relationships. You'll also be a team player with great attention to detail skills, intermediate computer skills and demonstrated stock system experience.
A current vehicle licence and forklift licence are a must for this role. Although not essential, proven trade understanding, OH&S certification and a current truck licence will all be well regarded.
In return for your hard work and dedication, you will enjoy an attractive salary $70,000 OTE + super in a fully office based role.
Undergoing full induction, you'll be supported by ongoing internal training and will also receive full support from the Branch Manager.
