About the Organisation
Commencing in 1965, Cootes Transport became part of the IES group in 2005, later becoming known as IES Liquids. Achieving rapid growth since its inception, Cootes/IES Liquids has become Australia’s largest logistics provider to the petroleum and chemicals industries.
The IES Liquids fleet operates in all Australian mainland states and territories, and consists of:
- 250 fuels and chemical tankers;
- 220 LPG tankers; and
- 30 bitumen tankers.
State-of-the-art facilities exist in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia, including administration offices, workshops and wash bays, and scheduling functions.
IES Liquids have a committed team of more than 935 people (including 750 drivers), collectively representing thousands of years of experience in the storage, handling and transportation of fuels, liquefied gases, bitumen and liquid chemicals.
About the Opportunities
Cootes Transport has a number of permanent and casual positions for Fuel Truck Drivers to join their dedicated teams based out of Perth.
With the opportunity to work across a range of operations, you will be driving Petroleum tankers in the metropolitan and country areas for one of the leading transporters of petroleum products within Western Australia.
Limited opportunities for LPG truck drivers are also available.
To be successful in this role, you will require a HC licence with at least 2 years driving experience (preferably with metropolitan areas). A Dangerous Goods (DG) licence is essential. Ideally, you will also have a Safe Loading Passport (SLP) though this is not essential as Cootes will train and assist you in obtaining this qualification.
In addition you will be a fast learner, with a keen eye for detail as well as the ability to use on board computer systems. You must also be prepared to work shift rosters.
You will be working on a variety of rosters and will enjoy excellent working conditions, where your safety is paramount. The organisation values its talented, experienced team highly.
Successful applicants will receive above award wages plus company superannuation and up to 5 weeks annual leave with full training and company uniforms provided.
