Today Sigma Aerospace supports airlines (regional through to international operators) as well as utility and special mission customers by way of its direct maintenance services (including engine, airframe, avionics and structural repairs), worldwide contract engineering services and inventory management.

Additionally Sigma Aerospace operates a turbine engine overhaul shop (Honeywell Major Service Centre), a state of the art composite repair facility and an aircraft instrument overhaul facility.

About the Opportunities

Due to significant growth, Sigma Aerospace has exciting, long term contract opportunities for Avionic Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME's) in Canberra whilst also inviting expressions of interest from Mechanical and Avionic LAME's for future positions in Canberra and Brisbane.

The successful candidates will be responsible for ‘certifying’ aircraft maintenance, routine or emergency. Licence requirements include DHC 8 100/200 & 300.  DHC 8 Q400 series licenced personnel are also required.  LAME's who possess a group 20 licence (737/ATR/DHC 8) or similar and are eligible for fast track PCT training will be highly regarded.

As a LAME, you will preferably have at least 10 years experience and be interested in further career advancement opportunities within Sigma Aerospace, including gaining your Q400 licence.

The ideal candidates will enjoy technical and engineering activities and be comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights on platforms around aircrafts.

Successful applicants will possess strong communication skills with the ability to lead and take responsibility for a team. In order to complete technical maintenance tasks, you will also need to be medically fit, with good hearing, vision and hand eye-coordination.

Immediate starts are available for the right candidates in these full time contract positions. These are long term positions with the candidates expected to relocate, accommodation is provided for up to four weeks to those moving from interstate.  International applicants who possess the right to live and work in Australia or are eligible for 457 visas will be considered, particularly those with an ATR licence.
