The aim of the National Lung Health Community Awareness and Promotion Campaign Program is to educate the target audience of adults over 30 years of age about the importance of lung health, the symptoms of chronic lung disease and the benefits of early diagnosis in reducing the risks of developing chronic lung disease.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this hands-on strategic role will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of the Program, with the aim of educating the public about both the importance of lung health and the symptoms of chronic lung disease, leading to community action.

This role will see you identifying opportunities for increasing the Lung Foundation donor base and managing the branding, media relations and marketing of Lung Foundation Australia. The Marketing and Public Relations Officer reports to this role, as well as Project Staff, as required.

  • In conjunction with the Lung Foundation Australia directors; develop and implement a clinical campaign which will underpin the community campaign by assisting primary care professionals to respond to queries relating to lung disease;
  • Planning and reporting responsibilities, including the development of Annual Work Plans to support strategic plans;
  • Managing the design and branding elements of the LFA website and providing marketing and media support to Lung Foundation national programs;
  • Delivering evaluation reports to determine the effectiveness of the Program;
  • Identifying fundraising opportunities and increasing paid up Members;
  • Managing budget allocations and developing financial forecasts and annual budgets; and
  • Providing leadership to project staff.

To be considered, you'll be an experienced and proactive manager with exceptional business skills and demonstrated expertise working with the media on national campaigns. This incorporates television and radio advertising and public relations and marketing activities.

Lung Foundation Australia is seeking an individual who will be able to hit the ground running, and who has the demonstrated ability to plan and manage programs to successfully achieve objectives and deadlines. Your proven ability to exercise judgement with minimal supervision, along with your skills in database management and developing relationship management systems and processes will be pivotal to your success.

Additionally, you'll possess exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive level documents, evaluative reports and grant submissions, and well developed oral communication skills, including the ability to establish
good working relationships at both a corporate and community level.

If you have a ‘can do’ attitude, the ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment, a demonstrable commitment to the Lung Foundation Australia values and a determination to succeed, this could be the role for you!

This position is vital to the effective running of Lung Foundation Australia, and is thus regarded as a key and pivotal leadership role.
