About the Opportunities
Carers ACT has multiple exciting opportunities for two Respite Services Team Leaders and a Mental Health Team Leader to join their multi-disciplinary team based in Holt, ACT. These positions are fixed term contracts until June 30, 2014, with the possibility of extension subject to funding contracts being renegotiated.
Reporting to the Respite Services and Carers Support Managers, these pivotal roles will see you providing high quality leadership and supervision to a professional team delivering respite and mental health services and support to carers with the ACT and Southern Highlands regions of NSW.
This will include ensuring that all staff maintain the highest possible standard of service delivery to clients of Carers ACT in accordance with the program contract guidelines and accountability requirements.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Supporting and supervising relevant teams to ensure skilled assessment of carer needs, planning, care coordination and carer support, consultation, and ensuring accurate carer, client and service provider records and data is maintained;
- Monitoring program contracts and budgets in accordance with program funding guidelines;
- Liaising and negotiating with key internal and external stakeholders, service providers and others to meet carer needs; and
- Working individually and collaboratively as part of a team to maintain a quality professional service for carers.
To succeed in the Mental Health Team Leader position, you will have relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in the Mental Health field.
For the Respite Services Team Leader positions, you will possess relevant qualifications and significant experience in the Community Services or Health related industries.
For all positions, you will need to have strong leadership and people management skills enabling you to support and enhance staff commitment and abilities effectively. Importantly, you'll have an understanding of issues of concern to carers and care recipients, as well as an appreciation of their needs.
Your strong analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills will be vital in these role, and you will have solid time management skills, allowing you to prioritise your workload to meet set deadlines. Additionally, you will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills giving you the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
You will be computer literate, and will possess highly developed client documentation, record keeping and file management skills. A current driver's licence is also mandatory, as you will be required to travel to other regional areas and interstate on occasion.
