About the Opportunity
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Officer to join their team in Minto, NSW.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for providing support in the various human resources functions, such as recruitment, performance monitoring, coaching and guiding line managers and production group leaders, as well as employee counselling.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Undertaking recruitment and selection activities, liaising with managers and external agencies as required;
- Providing support and advice on a range of HR issues including disciplinary, grievance handling, performance management and employee relations;
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems, policies and practices, and ensuring they all comply with federal and state legislation;
- Managing return to work processes;
- Coordinating WHS activities;
- Working on other small HR projects as required.
While formal qualifications in HR or business would be advantageous, more important to your success in this role will be your extensive experience in a similar role. Having worked in a manufacturing environment is vital. You'll have a thorough understanding of the Fairwork Act, a well as WHS and WorkCover requirements.
You'll have a strong desire to continually develop your existing HR and operational knowledge, and will strive to make a positive impact on the business and its people. You will be an outstanding communicator, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships with staff and external stakeholders.
The successful applicant will be required to have a high degree of flexibility as the plant operates over three shifts, 5 days per week. From time to time, some travel may be required to ensure smooth business operation. Interstate and even overseas travel for temporary periods may be asked of the applicant, and as such, the applicant must be flexible and willing to cooperate with organisational needs.
