About the Opportunity

Ostara Australia has an exciting full time opportunity for an Employment Services Team Leader (Disability Services) to oversee their Kalgoorlie and Esperance based Disability Employment Service teams (DES).  Although based in Kalgoorlie, there will be regular travel to Esperance required.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll assist with the supervision of the Kalgoorlie and Esperance Ostara sites. Your aim will be to help facilitate access to sustainable employment opportunities in each of these locations, particularly for those with a disability or mental health issues.

As both sites are relatively small, you will be performing Employment Services duties along with remote services.

Additional duties will include:

  • Setting individual site budgets and KPI's for each site within the Employment Services Area (under direction form State Manager if applicable);
  • Providing guidance and support to the sites and attending weekly team meetings;
  • Preparing and distributing regular reports for the Employment Services Area Manager and ad hoc reports as required;
  • Elevating any issues quickly and following the appropriate processes and procedures;
  • Identifying training needs/requirements and participating in annual staff performance review processes; and
  • Submitting details relating to Job Vacancies to Human Resources for advertising and participating in recruitment processes if required.

Suitable candidates will have extensive knowledge of, or experience working in the mental health and/or disability employment field, and will consequently hold an understanding of the importance of the role of employment in the mental health recovery process. In these roles, relevant tertiary qualifications in Behavioural Science, Social Work, Disability, Community Services or a related discipline will be highly advantageous, however, are not essential.

As you will be frequently engaging with individuals, colleagues, employers and service providers you will need to have high quality customer service and presentation skills with strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to mentor and support program participants. You will also have the ability to maintain working effective relationships with relevant community, employer and referral agencies.

A current Driver's Licence is essential for this role.  Additionally, you must also hold a current Working with Children's (or state equivalent) card, or be willing to obtain one.
