This position is being offered on a fixed term contract until 19th December 2014. Both part time and full time applications will be considered.

This rewarding role will find you actively involved in The Youth Connections Program, offering flexible and individualised services to young people aged between 11 and 19 who are at risk of disengaging from school, or are severely disengaged from education, family and community. The program supports these young people to attain their Year 12 or equivalent, and to help them make a successful transition through education and onto further education, training or work.

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering day-to-day Youth Connections Service in the Southern Tablelands and Snowy area;
  • Collating data and preparing service outcome reports as required;

  • Maintaining program records and data collection as required; and
  • Promoting and marketing the Youth Connections Program and other CatholicCare programs within the community.

The successful candidate will have experience in case management and working with at-risk, disengaged young people with complex needs. You will also require tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as Youth Work, Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, Mental Health or Community Health, as well as a solid demonstrated knowledge of appropriate youth, alternative education, employment and training services in NSW. Candidates with a background in program planning and developing and implementing the delivery of program services will be highly regarded.

You'll be a patient, flexible and enthusiastic individual who understands the importance of good time management, and an effective worker both independently and in a team environment. It's essential you demonstrate sound oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to liaise with outside agencies effectively.

Additionally, you will require demonstrated awareness of relevant principles and practices such as EEO, OH&S, confidentiality and Duty of Care, and computer literacy including familiarity with working with databases and spreadsheets. While you'll be based in the Cooma office, this role will also require the successful candidate to participate in regular team meetings held in Canberra every three weeks.

All applicants must hold a current driver's licence and be willing to undertake a Criminal History Check, a Working With Children Check and make a Prohibited Employment Declaration, before commencement.
