About the Opportunity
Perrott Engineering has an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused professionals with a background in hydraulics to join their team as Sales Advisor in Cairns and Darwin.
Drawing on your expertise in the hydraulics field, you'll be taking on a key role within this business, as you promote and grow sales of the full range of Perrott's hydraulic products and supplier components within the valued client base, including the Australian Defence Force, Australian and PNG shipping companies, and leading international mining companies amongst its growing customer base.
You'll work closely with the Sales Manager to expand the Perrott Engineering client base and income, as you enjoy significant scope and latitude to increase sales using the strategies of your choice.
More specifically, your duties will include:
- Monitoring customer activity to ensure their full sales potential is being realised;
- Using price schedules and discount rates within Company guidelines to strategise competitive pricing;
- Liaising with the service and engineering departments to ensure delivery of the Company’s services is achieved within budget and on time;
- Maintaining regular contact with customers; and
- Receiving initial customer sales orders, record and directing the enquiry to fulfill the customers requirements.
To succeed in this role, you'll either have Engineering qualifications or experience working with hydraulic parts, preferably within the mechanical, mining or maritime industry. You'll be highly organised in your day-to-day tasks, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to contributing to the growth of Perrott Engineering, and an unwavering customer-focus approach.
This role is based around building and developing relationships with both clients and colleagues, so you'll need excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate technical information in a way people with a limited understanding of Engineering can clearly understand.
It's vital you have very strong computer skills, and are comfortable in using email, the internet, databases and the MS Office suite to plan and carry out your daily duties. Most of all, you'll be focused on achieving and exceeding targets, with an undeniable drive to see the results of your work.

Perrott Engineering will reward the successful applicant with a competitive salary circa $55,000 at Cairns and $70,000 at Darwin! You'll also be privy to regular salary reviews.
