About the Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a Repair, Maintenance and OH&S Officer to uphold the high standards of the Flight Centre QLD Property brand throughout Queensland.
Reporting to the Property & Procurement State Property Team Leader, you will be responsible for performing repairs, maintenance, OHS, electrical testing & tagging and emergency lighting testing in each of Flight Centre QLD's retail and commercial properties. You will travel QLD, visiting each property annually and using your trade qualifications to ensure each environment is safe.
In this role, some of your key duties will be to:
- Visit each store and complete an auditing checklist;
- Perform electrical test and tag on all required equipment;
- Report and maintain a compliance schedule;
- Monitor OH&S practices in each store and meet with team leaders to determine practices;
- Perform regular repair and maintenance in stores and organise specialised repairs;
- Ensure fire and security systems are up to standard and emergency procedures are maintained; and
- Ensure that all services are cost effective, liaising with external suppliers when required.
This role would be suited to a qualified carpenter, electrician, handyman or builder looking for a change in their career. You will have experience in aspects of facility management, and technical experience in a building related trade such as OH&S compliance, electrical services, carpentry or general maintenance. Please note that although OH&S experience would be highly regarded, it is not essential and training will be provided to the right candidate.
Appearing as a professional specialist at all times is essential in this role, as you will be giving advice and making recommendations to companies that need to trust your opinion. The ideal candidate for this position will have highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and be able to openly present ideas and concepts in a relatable way. You must be able to confidently use e-mail, Microsoft Word and Excel, and work within budget. You will be a goal-orientated and organised person who can work in a variety of situations and feel comfortable communicating with business leaders and senior staff.
This role is suited to a physically fit applicant who can comfortably undertake manual handling tasks, with the attention to detail to recognise hazardous conditions within the workplace. A driver’s licence and the willingness to travel frequently is essential to this role.
Flight Centre Limited employees around the world are highly motivated, hard-working and dedicated to their job - but that's not the only reason to come to work. It is also about having fun, learning new things, meeting with a great group of people and being part of something you believe in.
You'll enjoy a market leading salary package of $80,000 + super, made up of a generous retainer plus a performance based incentive. Incentives are calculated on the audits undertaken and hours worked, so you will have the real possibility to increase this figure. You will also be provided with a van, training and all the 'tools of the trade'.
By joining Flight Centre, you will receive a host of exceptional benefits including:
- Discount travel
- Global career opportunities
- Free access to our in-house financial planners and home loan brokers
- Free health consultations
- A range of discounted products and services, from grocery shopping to gym equipment
