About the Organisation
Cape York Digital Network (CYDN) was established in 1998. The focus of CYDN is to promote economic, social and employment development in Cape York through the establishment of quality customised ICT services for rural and remote Australia and to promote community uptake of ICT with the establishment and support of information and technology centres.
CYDN continues to provide services specifically for remote Far North Queensland but they have expanded their services and operations to include regional and metropolitan people, clients and areas.
About the Opportunity
Cape York Digital Network has an exciting full time opportunity for an IT Support Officer (Mac and PC) to join their team based in Cairns, QLD.
Working in a predominantly Apple Mac environment, you'll be responsible for providing technical and software support to end-users. You will work on-site in a campus environment to deploy, optimise, troubleshoot and secure Apple equipment and some Windows equipment.
Some of your specific responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to);
- Monitoring and troubleshooting internet connections;
- Managing the day-to-day administration of systems resolving any technical issues relating to the systems;
- Managing daily system backups and file transfers; and
- Providing accurate documentation and ticket logging.
The successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications in IT / Information Management, or a strong background in an IT support environment. Ideally you'll have experience in providing IT support to end-users and server experience.
You'll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people. You'll demonstrate skills in time management, multi-tasking, prioritising and problem solving, with a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
You will be working in an Indigenous school, so you must hold a Blue Card or be willing to obtain one.
