About the Opportunity

Moreton Hire has an exciting opportunity for a entrepreneurial sales professional to join the team in the role of QLD Team Leader (Event Sales) in their Brisbane office.

Reporting to the National Event Manager, this role will operate within the national management team, and be responsible for ensuring continued business growth through the effective leadership of the QLD Events Team and the development of new and existing business. This will involve working closely with networks to maintain Moreton Hire's status and presence in the market. 

More specifically, some of your duties will include:

  • Providing day-to-day coordination, leadership, coaching and mentoring of the Events team;
  • Developing and assuming accountability for P&L and sales budgets;
  • Actively identifying and leveraging new business opportunities with prospects;
  • Growing and developing the existing client base through strategic planning;
  • Managing existing client accounts and relationships, ensuring their continued business;
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to manage expectations during project execution; and
  • Identifying opportunities for quality and service improvement.

Moreton Hire is seeking applications from individuals with proven sales skills and extensive experience in the event management industry, coupled with an appropriate tertiary qualification. You'll have a good understanding of the national and corporate events market, as well as demonstrated experience leading and managing a successful team and implementing sales strategies and tactics. Importantly, you'll also have knowledge of the financial management practices of business, and be able to develop and manage budgets and Profit and Loss (P&L).

The successful applicant will be an entrepreneurial and innovative individual, who will use their experience in sales and the event management industry to explore and develop new and creative revenue opportunities. You'll have a high level of attention to detail, and consider yourself an organised, flexible and natural leader with excellent planning, problem solving and delegation skills. These attributes will see you thrive within a structured, process-driven and high pressure environment, and ensure you follow a tight schedule regarding team meetings and reporting. 

As a leader, you'll work hard to foster a strong culture of customer service and high quality work, and genuinely enjoy the process of mentoring others to meet their goals. Additionally, you'll have excellent communication and negotiation skills, enabling you to develop and maintain strong, effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and manage your portfolio of clients effectively.
