About the Opportunity

Sigma Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Turbine Engine Technician to join their dedicated team in Brisbane.

The successful candidate will be experienced in a TPE331 shop environment (engine overhaul, CAM, HSI, Repair and component overhaul) with Honeywell intermediate engine training.

Experience in PT6/PW100 repair, Certifying Engine LAME and NDT is desirable.

As Senior Turbine Engine Technician your role will encompass the following:

  • Conducting necessary troubleshooting and/or repair (either on or off wing) on turbine engines.
  • Disassembly and assembly of various models of turbine engines according to sequence utilizing aircraft tools, balance machines, surface grinders, drill presses, and other equipment for repair and/or overhaul.
  • Receiving engine parts to conduct inspections using precision measuring tools in order to detect physical defects such as cracks, burns, foreign object damages, proper screws and structure deviations.
  • Evaluating engine parts to determine which parts are repairable or unrepairable;
  • Utilising precision-measurement tools to determine serviceability of components;
  • Inspecting aircraft engine parts to determine and/or perform NDT requirements;
  • Utilising applicable database system in order to retrieve information regarding parts inventory, manufacturing models, serial numbers, and/or other pertinent information to ensure proper documentation;
  • Referring to technical publications, specification sheets and/or other regulatory requirements in order to ensure that all tasks have been completed in proper sequence and required signed-off;
  • Customer contact and travel may be required.
  • General facility cleaning and maintenance;

As a Senior Turbine Engine Technician, you will preferably have at least 10 years experience and be interested in further career advancement opportunities within Sigma Aerospace.

Previous supervisory and customer service experience,highly desired as will applicants holding a licenced on the TPE331 and other turbine ratings with field servicing experience.

Successful applicants will possess strong communication skills with the ability to lead and take responsibility for a team. In order to complete technical maintenance tasks, you will also need to be medically fit, with good hearing, vision and hand eye-coordination.
