About Queensland's Growing Community Services Sector

Australia's fastest growing industry isn't Financial Services, Construction or even Mining, it's the Community Services Sector. The Health and Community Services industry is Queensland's largest employer with more than 290,000 people currently employed within the industry and growth projections indicating that another 153,100 jobs will be added to the Queensland economy by 2017.  

Queenslanders depend upon a fully trained and highly skilled workforce to deliver these vital services but currently, employer demand for Certificate III qualified employees exceeds what the Queensland labour market can provide.  Due to this shortage in the labour market, employment opportunities with well known Community Service providers of Aged Care, Disability, Home and Community Care are increasing rapidly. The Community Services Training and Development Centre (CSTDC) is building strategic relationships with a number of major community service providers to become their primary resource for recruitment.  These relationships are built upon CSTDC's commitment to deliver the highest quality training for their students.

About the Career Information Session and Your New Career

If you're a caring individual looking to begin a rewarding career, CSTDC has an exciting opportunity that is not to be missed. 

CSTDC are currently seeking expressions of interest from Queensland residents interested in attending a Course and Careers Information Session at their Maroochydore office.  The information session is free to attend and will offer you vital information about your new career path!

The information sessions are held every Thursday from 9:30am - 12:30pm at Unit 8, No. 72 Wises Road, Maroochydore.

To be eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee, you must have either finished or left secondary school and be a minimum of 15 years of age.  In addition, you will need to be living in Queensland and have the unrestricted right to live and work in Australia (Australian/New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident), and you must not hold a Certificate  III or higher qualification. 

A Student Contribution Fee of just $300 (or $150 concessional) is all that’s required to undertake a Cert III in Aged Care (CHC30212), Disability (CH30408) or Home and Community Care (CH30312).  A combination of classes and vocational practical work placement over 12 weeks will give you the knowledge and hands-on experience for immediate employment in this fast growing industry.
