About the Opportunity
Vinod Patel & Co have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join their team based in Suva, Fiji.
Reporting to the CEO, this role will be responsible for driving and developing the 'Home & Living' business through the development and implementation of promotional strategies. This will include working and leading the Sales and Product Development team to grow the company's presence in Fiji and the South Pacific region.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Participating in corporate strategic planning, having responsibility for implementing goals, objectives and operations;
- Developing, implementing and achieving short and long-term business plans and objectives;
- Proposing sales and marketing strategies and strategically constructing core communications;
- Building brand equity and directing consumer response through consumer marketing activity and engagement;
- Developing and implementing action plans to capture significant market share for the company's key products;
- Collaborating with the management team, conducting regular team and individual meetings; and
- Conducting regular store visits to ensure the sales team are appropriately developed and motivated to excel.
This is an important new role within the company and it is essential that you have a minimum of five years managerial experience at a similar level, ideally with experience in products such as audiovisual, ICT, whitegoods and/or home furniture-related goods. A degree in Business Marketing and Sales is desirable though not essential.
A critical function of this role is the ability to cultivate strong working relationships within a group, across company functions and with external organisations, therefore strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to influence and persuade at a senior level are essential.
The candidate will be a 'can-do', individual with an outcome-driven approach and a proven track record of achieving results and making change happen through leadership and influence of a team.
