About the Organisation

For more than 50 years, Centacare Brisbane has been the social services arm of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Brisbane, working in partnership with various levels of government and the community. With a workforce of more than 3000 people (including volunteers) Centacare responds to local needs from over 200 small service sites throughout southeast Queensland, touching the lives of more than 100,000 people each year.

Government funding makes it possible for Centacare to reach those requiring relationship, employment, disability, child care and community support. Centacare also relies significantly on volunteers and donations for its non-government funded Pastoral Ministries work in prisons, hospitals, psychiatric pastoral care, HIV/AIDS education and Indigenous communities.

Centacare Family and Relationship Services (CFRS) is part of Centacare in the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Branches respond to local community needs throughout South East Queensland.

About the Opportunity

Centacare currently has an exciting full time opportunity for a Manager - Family Relationship Centre & Regional Operations Support to join their team, travelling between Fortitude Valley and Chermside in Brisbane’s north. 

Reporting directly to the Centacare CRFS Regional Manager, this pivotal senior role will see you responsible for the day-to-day management of the Family Relationship Centre. 

This will include ensuring the accountable and appropriate provision and leadership of high quality, child focused family dispute resolution services and for providing contemporary, values-based, leadership and management of the Family Relationship Centre. In addition, you'll be providing regional operational support to the CFRS Regional Manager as required.

Centacare is looking for a candidate with relevant tertiary qualifications (Social Work, Psychology or another Behavioural Science) and a demonstrated record of achievement in a senior management role within the not-for-profit sector.

Importantly, you'll have significant senior experience in family relationship services and an applied understanding of relevant legislation and professional standards.  You'll also have a well-developed understanding of change and transition management theory and practice in a not-for-profit environment.

You’ll have demonstrated knowledge and skills in planning and development, tender writing, financial and human resource management, service provision, reporting and evaluation as well as the ability to articulate a highly-developed leadership and management practice framework.

In addition, you will be committed to leading and integrating a client-focused, values and mission driven service as well as the ability to lead and manage organisational complexity with a high level of ethical practice.

While not essential, registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner will be highly regarded and attract an above award payment of $4,500 per annum (pro rata), based on the hours worked.

The role requires a Positive Notice for Child Related Employment (Blue Card with a Yellow Card exemption), or the ability to obtain one, along with a current C class driver's licence, and have the flexibility to travel.
