About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Financial Controller to join the Big Fat Smile head office team in Corrimal, Wollongong NSW.
Under direction from the CEO and General Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of company-wide accounting, finance, risk management, performance analysis and reporting services.
This high-level position will have 10 direct reports, including the Accounts Leader and Accounts Officers.
Some of your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Managing the full range of accounting, financial and risk services for the business;
- Contributing to strategy development and business planning;
- Providing expert, strategic and timely advice to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board;
- Ensuring effective financial controllership, liquidity and investment and financial forecasting;
- Leading and training staff in processes for accounting, purchasing and inventory/asset management;
- Preparing company and cost centre budgets; and
- Ensuring timely and effective management reporting and statutory reporting.
To be successful in this role, you will be CPA/CA qualified with tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and extensive previous experience in financial controlling and risk management.
This role requires someone with strong leadership skills who displays initiative and strong leadership skills. A systematic thinker, you will be comfortable with frameworks and process constraints and use your organisation and initiative to manage your workload and reprioritise as needed. Additionally, you will be results-oriented and have sound knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standards, as well as experience in performance analysis, scenario modelling and business process reform.
Knowledge of large scale accounting systems is essential, and applicants with experience in TechnologyOne in particular will be highly regarded. The ideal candidate will be great with numbers and analysis, and have the strong communication skills to convey their knowledge to others.
