About the Opportunities

Due to rapid growth, McCorkell Constructions have a number of exciting opportunities for motivated and experienced professionals to fill the positions of Project Manager, Site Manager and Contracts Administrator in their Perth office.

The successful candidates will have practical knowledge of the local Perth commercial construction market as well as a demonstrated history of delivering projects from commencement to completion.

Project Manager

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing, directing and supervising construction projects from start to finish within agreed time frames and budgets.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage project activities throughout their lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success;
  • Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget; procure extra budget funding where necessary;
  • Manage a variety of stakeholders including site superintendents, sub-trades, designers and estimators; and
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures and standard are adhered to at all times, including ensuring that best practices are being followed during site visits.

To be successful in this role you will be tertiary qualified in Construction and have a solid understanding of the Perth commercial construction market and subcontractors.

Site Manager

This vital role will see you responsible for the management of onsite staff, labour needs, subcontractor's delivery and OH&S compliance.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Implementing & maintaining a strong professional relationship with Clients & Consultants;
  • Supervising construction activities onsite, including labour and sub-contractors;
  • Liaising with construction staff ensuring total communication across all aspects of the jobs according to plans and program deadlines;
  • Delegating tasks from the project plan including site establishment, OH&S and environmental plans;and
  • Providing feedback to management.

The successful candidate will have extensive supervisory experience and demonstrate a strong knowledge of Health and Safety practices. You will be experienced in bringing projects out of the ground and have a demonstrated ability to lead and manage all on-site activity and trades through to completion.

Contracts Administrator

This is a crucial role in the business, as you take responsibility for overseeing and managing the entire contracts administration process over the duration of projects.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparing subcontractor packages, scopes, lettings, procurement schedules;
  • Preparing of Progress claims and variations;
  • Reviewing, negotiating and finalising subcontracts;
  • Overseeing Site Document administration; and
  • Administering RFI’s across project to all stakeholders.

Tertiary qualification in either Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying is essential for this role, and the ideal candidate will have around 1-3 years commercial experience. This role will also suit a Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor wanting to move into a Contracts Administration role. You must be highly motivated with a desire to learn and progress into more senior roles.
