About the Opportunity

UnitingCare Gippsland has a wonderful opportunity for a motivated and collaborative individual to create a just and equitable Gippsland as a Practice Leader. 

The aim of this role is to maximise agency performance and provide quality, sustainable outcomes to clients and communities through leading, mentoring and empowering others. This is an operational role which offers program management responsibilities to support the implementation of strategic goals and plans of the agency.

Practice Leader (Integrated Intake & Case Management) - Sale, Vic

This role will see you supervising the Integrated Intake and Integrated Case Management teams based in Sale. Duties will include decision making regarding the well being of vulnerable children, youth, families and individuals as well as liaising with the Department of Human Services. As part of the Executive team you will report to the General Manager of Client Services.

More specifically your duties for this positions will include (but not be limited to):

  • Developing agency performance through leadership of others;
  • Reviewing and developing services in response to changing community needs;
  • Supporting the Management Team in implementing systems and problem solving;
  • Motivating and mentoring emerging leaders;
  • Working collaboratively to achieve strategic objectives;
  • Preparing budgets and reviewing the financial performance of programs;
  • Managing funding service agreements and contracts; and
  • Developing policies and program objectives.

The successful candidate will require proven experience in a relevant or similar role. You will also require demonstrated skills in leading, developing and managing diverse teams and have sound, innovative problem solving skills.

Candidates must have proven experience in case management, program development, implementation and evaluation as well as a relevant tertiary qualification.

You will strive to be an advocate for the community's needs by developing positive relationships with relevant stakeholders and formulating creative solutions for them, therefore excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.  Knowledge of homelessness issues and experience in staff supervision will be highly regarded.

UnitingCare Gippsland works in the interest of the safety and well being of children and young people. Comprehensive screening will be required for successfully chosen applicants, including a Police Clearance and Working With Children check. A current Driver's Licence is also essential.
