About the Organisation 

The Victoria Daly Regional Council became an entity on the 1st July 2008 through the amalgamation of 8 Northern Territory community councils covering an area of 168,000sqkm an area, approximately twice the size of Tasmania. Council's aim is to strengthen its communities with local people delivering services to their own communities with the skills and knowledge of their own culture, community and people. 

Victoria Daly Regional Council is almost two years old as an organisation, so Council is currently recruiting people who share their vision to help develop the growing organisation.

About the Opportunity

Victoria Daly Regional Council currently has an exciting position available for a full-time Contracts Coordinator (12 month contract) to join its team in Katherine.

This challenging and varied role will find you responsible for assisting the Funding Manager, Contract Managers and Council Service Managers in developing and implementing systems and processes to ensure all funding grant contract requirements are met.

More specifically your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Performing and monitoring grant contract administration and compliance;
  • Assisting with the development and compliance of a grant contracts reporting schedule;
  • Actively participating in the development and ongoing maintenance of a computer database for the grant contract management system;
  • Preparing regular reports on the status of grant contracts; and
  • Providing direction to key stakeholders and staff regarding relevant grant contract positions.

To be successful in this position you will hold qualifications in Grant Contract Management or relevant work experience in a similar position. Previous experience working with Northern Territory and Commonwealth Government funding agencies is essential. Demonstrated experience in financial/budget reporting will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will be liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders, and therefore will require a confident attitude, as well as a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Supporting the Contracts Manager and Funding Manager, you will need a high level of attention to detail and the ability to compile, write and analyse reports. With an analytical and innovative approach to problem solving and decision making, you will work effectively in both autonomous and team-based environments.

Advanced computer literacy is vital to this role, and previous experience in the development of a computer database and grant contracts reporting schedule will be highly regarded.

A current manual driver's licence is essential, and the successful applicant will be required to undertake a National Police Clearance check.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary circa $68,793 - $73,300 + superannuation and a host of benefits, including:

  • 38 hour working week (Monday-Friday, generally 8am-4:30pm);
  • 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading;
  • 10 days personal leave;
  • Relocation assistance up to $5,000;
  • Remote area allowance $2,000 per annum; and
  • Ongoing professional training, allowing you to upgrade your qualifications and licensing;
