About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Estimator (Tender Management) to join the team at A&G Fabrications in Acacia Ridge.
Reporting to the Director and Project Managers, the successful applicant will be responsible for the preparation, assessment and administration of incoming tenders. This role will also include training and coaching team members and developing workflow systems for the department.
More specifically your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Managing all aspects of tender acquisition, assessment and preparation;
- Compiling relevant information including pricing, suppliers and schedules;
- Coordinating and conducting handover meetings with project teams;
- Providing feedback on tender progress and contracts to both internal and external stakeholders; and
- Preparing and reviewing procedures and work instructions.
To be successful in this position, you will require previous experience in a similar position involving tender administration and preparation, ideally with a history of working on medium to large-scale projects. You'll also require on-site experience in the construction industry, and proficiency in AutoCAD software, v6 / façade design and the Microsoft Office suite. Candidates with knowledge or experience working with windows, screens and glazing will be highly regarded, as will those with formal qualifications in a relevant area.
A&G Fabrications is seeking applications from candidates with a good grasp of project management principles — specifically as they relate to technical engineering and the construction industry. You'll have a great eye for detail, along with strong literacy and numeracy skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills will also ensure you're confident in negotiations, while your organisational and prioritisation abilities will aid you in working to meet multiple deadlines. The ability to delegate and switch between tenders quickly will be key to your success.
