About the Opportunity

Best Friends Pet SuperCentre has an exciting opportunity available for a Store General Manager to join their brand new Morayfield site opening soon.

You will be responsible for the daily running and efficient operations of the core services of the business. You will also be leading a team of direct reports in providing the best customer service and pet care solutions.

More specific duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Overall performance of the store and its services;
  • Driving retail sales and profitability as well as managing overheads;
  • Executing marketing, category and customer plans;
  • Managing high volume stock; and
  • Leading team members to deliver against standard operating procedures and driving pet advocacy.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in retail management and operations. You'll be a natural leader and able to coach your team to achieve amazing results. Additionally, your communication will be excellent, allowing you to engage and inspire team members and to build solid relationships with the community and customers.

You'll consider yourself to be highly analytical and be confident in making sound operational decisions, particularly when working on budgets and financial reports. This will also require sound computer literacy. You'll have experience in high volume stock management and in using POS systems.  Additionally, your organisational skills will be second to none.

An animal lover through and through, you'll proudly promote pet advocacy and your empathetic approach will assist you in providing the best level of service for customers. A collaborative, approachable and hands-on leader, you'll be the friendly public face of the store.
