About the Opportunities
We currently have opportunities for high performing Engineering Graduates to join our dynamic and expert teams in Auckland, New Zealand.
If you are successful, you will be offered a two-year fixed term placement, commencing in February 2015. Our programme is IPENZ accredited and involves rotation throughout our five business divisions.
We will progressively grow and use your expertise across our business, giving you exposure to exciting and business critical projects and opportunities to develop in a wide range of industry disciplines. On conclusion you will be positioned to progress your career into project management, construction management, contract management, engineering, or design estimation.
On a day-to-day basis as a graduate with Electrix, you will primarily be responsible for providing technically appropriate and cost effective drawings, specifications, reports and investigations, ensuring practical construction and/or tendering requirements are met.
More specifically your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Preparing technical documentation in accordance with best practice;
- Supporting the engineering aspects of projects, in accordance with internal systems and procedures;
- Reviewing engineering work and advising on design outputs and conceptual designs;
- Providing technical support to estimators, engineers, maintenance and construction staff, sub-contractors and project managers; and
- Carrying out and supervising tests/commissioning of work of a technical nature.
About You
To be considered for these positions, you will have graduated in the last 12 months or by February 2015 in one of the following programmes from a New Zealand recognised tertiary provider:
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology
- Master of Engineering
- Completion of a paper in Power Systems will give you a distinct advantage
(Transcripts of your academic papers completed to date need be included in your application)
You will also have expert analytical and problem solving skills, strong learning agility, and demonstrated aptitude in engineering design.
Most important will be your ability to communicate well and build and maintain strong working relationships across the business, with our clients and other staff alike.
You will need eligibility to live and work in New Zealand and the ability to obtain a New Zealand driver's licence.
