About the Opportunity

Major Training has an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dedicated Training Development Manager to join the hard-working team in their Yatala, QLD office.

With your existing knowledge, this role will be responsible for guiding and empowering the team of trainers and BDMs to grow in their respective areas, whilst maintaining and improving systems to ensure compliance across all relevant legislation and acts.

Working closely with the Business Manager (RTO), your day-to-day duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing the Traineeship and Apprenticeship trainers;
  • Maintaining and building strong relationships with clients;
  • Providing Senior Advisory of all Traineeship and Apprenticeship administration;
  • Reviewing existing systems and training while implementing improvements;
  • Ensuring training packages and units of competence are in line with the scope of the organisation;
  • Ensuring compliance of training and trainers with legislation and the VET Quality Framework;
  • Conducting internal and external compliance audits and compiling/submitting the subsequent reports;
  • Maintaining and building strong relationships with key government bodies;
  • Researching opportunities of future scope diversity and reporting on market trends;
  • Providing updates to staff on relevant legislative changes;
  • Reviewing marketing materials to ensure standards are met; and
  • Working closely with the Compliance Officer to ensuring training compliance.

This role will have a significant involvement in the development of the Traineeship and Apprenticeship arm of the business, where your vision and advice for strategic growth in this space will be critical for the guidance of the sales team.

To be successful, you must have prior experience in the management of staff, a Certificate IV in TAE40110 (including the Language, Literacy & Numeracy module) and have proven experience in resource development for Traineeship and Apprenticeship Training. A strong understanding of the ASQA, AQF, OH&S regulations and relevant Civil Construction, Transport & Logistics and Business Training acts is also essential to succeed in this role.

You will have previous experience in a similar position, which will enable you to interpret complex training contracts and make recommendations on compliance and quality control matters. A proven leader, your strong interpersonal skills will allow you to build positive working relationships with relevant stakeholders, clients and colleagues. 

Major Training is seeking applications from candidates with exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, who have solid computer literacy and high attention to detail. Applicants will take a pro-active approach to problem solving and consider themselves to be highly organised, completing work effectively and efficiently. You'll also require a keen interest in innovation, especially in regards to developing new training products, as you'll be working on a range of projects including a new online training platform.

Previous experience working as a Trainer/Assessor and/or Teacher would be highly regarded.
