About the Opportunity
A to Z Auto & Diesel Services currently has several full-time openings in Edmonton, Alberta for:
- Junior Mechanics,
- Apprentice Mechanics; and
- Journeyman and Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanics.
In these roles, the main responsibilities will include:
- Performing hands on maintenance and repairs (working with trucks and trailers 75% of the time, and light vehicles 25% of the time);
- Performing inspections, repairs and maintenance;
- Overseeing purchase orders and inventory; and
- Managing other Junior or Apprentice Mechanics, based on experience.
Junior Mechanics should have knowledge of truck, trailer or light vehicle mechanics and will be trained and offered further developmental education to advance their careers. Any relevant experience or knowledge will be considered.
Apprentice Mechanics will also be offered continual training and further educational development opportunities in order to assist you in reaching Journeyman and Red Seal certification. Although we will still consider 1st and 2nd year Apprentices, it is preferred that you are in your 3rd or 4th year.
Journeyman and Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanics who apply must have either Journeyman or Red Seal Certification. In this key role, you will join a growing company, and can look forward to having the opportunity to manage and lead a team of employees.
It will be considered an asset if you have a Class 1 or 3 drivers license.
Lastly, we are looking for skilled professionals with excellent mechanical knowledge and the physical and mental capability to meet the demands of the job. As a diligent, reliable individual, you also have a can-do attitude and have no problem taking the initiative when needed.
