About the Opportunity
Vinod Patel Works Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join their team based in Suva, Fiji.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will be responsible for defining the strategy and business for the overall operation, supervising quality improvement initiatives, as well as assisting in new sales opportunities and customer acquisition and relationships. This will include overseeing company operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
Your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
- Managing new and existing projects in the company and ensuring that goals are achieved as per target, and approving tenders, estimates and final pricing for all clients;
- Developing and implementing company operational procedures, policies, and standards and ensuring it is audited on a regular basis;
- Reviewing and achieving short and long-term business plans and objectives;
- Ensuring that performance reviews are conducted on bi-annual basis for key staff, and routine reports on divisional performance are prepared and submitted to the Board;
- Managing and monitoring the company's training & development plan;
- Working closely with the local community and engaging the company with corporate social responsibility initiatives; and
- Ensuring client satisfaction, and expanding new products and service offerings.
This is an important role within the company and it is essential that you have a minimum of five years managerial experience at an operational or similar level in a medium to large organisation, along with a strong knowledge of joinery and interior design.
A critical function of this role is the ability to cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, therefore strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to influence and persuade at a senior level are essential.
