About the Opportunity

PCA has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Services Manager to join the management team in their Deakin, ACT office.

As part of the senior management team, this pivotal role will involve ensuring that robust corporate infrastructure, systems and processes are implemented and sustained.  You will also be responsible for providing effective and creative leadership to the Corporate Services Team.

Additionally, some of your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Working closely with managers to build a business plan that underpins PCA's Strategic Plan and business imperatives;
  • Promoting community awareness across palliative care work;
  • Managing the general running of the office environment;
  • Formulating, implementing, communicating and maintaining administrative systems necessary to improve organisational processes;
  • Performing a range of finance functions including accounts payable and receivable, petty cash, BAS statements and other records and reports; and
  • Assisting the CEO and other managers with the preparation of the annual budget and schedules.

To be successful in this senior role, you will need previous experience in a similar, high-level management role, preferably within a community-based organisation. Demonstrated ability to perform a range of corporate, finance and executive assistant functions will be essential. Formal qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as office administration, business or accounting will be highly regarded.

In this highly autonomous role, you will require the ability to exercise your initiative and to prioritise and monitor your own work while supervising the work of your direct reports. The successful candidate will have the proven ability to adhere to tight deadlines and will have a good level of financial literacy allowing you to confidently prepare and interpret reports, budgets and other financial documents.

You will possess high level communication and interpersonal skills to enable you to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, as well as a proven ability in appropriate and positive staff management and leadership. You will be confident in establishing priorities to deliver outcomes, and will require excellent time-management and organisational ability to achieve these outcomes effectively.

PCA is seeking applications from candidates with strong computer literacy and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as MYOB and Reckon. Importantly, excellent written skills will be essential as you will be required to prepare reports, meeting minutes and a variety of other documents to a high standard.

Although not essential, an understanding of policies and issues relevant to palliative care reforms in Australia would be highly regarded.
