About the Organisation
Beginning operations in 1980, the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association (CAAMA) was the first Aboriginal group to be allocated a broadcasting licence. The Aboriginal people of Central Australia own CAAMA through an association and have clear objectives focused on the social, cultural and economic advancement of Aborginal people.
CAAMA promotes Aboriginal culture, language, dance and music while generating economic benefits in the form of training, employment and income generation. CAAMA is proud of their reputation for producing media products that engenders pride in Aboriginal culture, while informing and educating the wider community of the richness and diversity of the Aboriginal peoples of Australia.
CAAMA is an award winning organisation and has recently received the Diversity Award from the Australian and and New Zealand Internet Awards (ANSIZs) which recognises excellence in the use of internet by businesses, organisations and individuals. Additionally, a production department trainee also won the "Best Director" award at the recent Indigenous Remote Communication Association (IRCA) Awards.

About the Opportunity
The Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association has an exciting full-time opportunity for a RIBS Coordinator in Alice Springs, NT.
Reporting to the Station Manager, you'll promote, encourage and train community members in the RIBS facility and the effective use of RIBS equipment for the potential possibilities of the RIBS network.
You will enjoy a vast variety of responsibilities, including:
- Assisting in preparation, research, writing and training for production material;
- Providing regular reports on training activities and programming;
- Implementing and providing a training platform for youth in equipment, both radio and video content productions;
- Assisting in the training of Aboriginal trainees and work experience students; and
- Providing support and appropriate assistance to participants.
This is a rewarding opportunity to join an award winning studio and to be successful, you'll have proven experience in Radio Broadcasting, video production and training development and delivery to Aboriginal people. You'll be able to represent CAAMA's interests at a variety of forums. Your demonstrated understanding of the issues facing Indigenous Australians within local communities will be essential to your success in this role.
As a pivotal member of the local community, your outstanding communication and interpersonal skills will be put to good use as you communicate and influence across the Indigenous community. You'll also have proven report writing and public speaking skills, as well as the ability to liaise with people of all ages and backgrounds.
You will need to hold a valid NT manual driver's licence, as well as a willingness to travel as required.
