About the Opportunity

Samuel Smith & Son are looking for a dynamic State Manager to lead an enterprising team from their office in Alexandria, NSW. This is a rare opportunity to become part of an outstanding company, known globally for its reputation in the wine industry. 

In this role you will assume responsibility for the leadership of the Samuel Smith & Son business in NSW and for the day to day operation of the Branch. By leading and working with the management and executive team, you will help to profitably grow the company.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Achieving volume, revenue and profit targets;
  • Managing relationships and identifying and developing new opportunities;
  • Recruiting, coaching and developing sales, administrative and warehouse personnel;
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with all stakeholders;
  • Developing customer trading agreements and managing the ongoing review of their effectiveness;
  • Ensuring execution of brand and channel initiatives; and
  • Managing branch financial performance.

Samuel Smith & Son is seeking a confident team player with strong commercial acumen. You will have exceptional relationship building skills, and be an outstanding leader. The ability to make your decisions clear and heard, while still maintaining a positive working relationship with others, is evidence of your strong leadership skills. Energetic, persistent and results-focused, you will utilise your strong management skills to build a successful, accountable team environment.

As the State Manager, you will be tech savvy and experienced with CRM software. In particular, experience with Salesforce and/or using CRM for analytics and strategy will be looked upon favourably. 

It is essential you have experience in the wine industry in order for you to be successful in this role. You will have a general interest in wine and an intense desire to be part of this rewarding industry and the Samuel Smith & Son family.
