About the Opportunity

Samuel Smith & Son has an excellent opportunity for an experienced and energetic Warehouse Manager to lead their Melbourne team.

As the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing staff, and managing and controlling operating warehouse expenses. You will ensure logistic service standards are aligned with company service goals, and provide problem solving for clients and staff. Constantly reviewing the freight model, you will be responsible for performing regional freight analysis, reducing costs and minimising courier impact. 

Some of your daily responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Managing warehouse workflow;
  • Ensuring a safe workplace for all staff;
  • Managing staff workflow and efficiencies;
  • Daily evaluation of stock levels;
  • Solving warehouse queries related to external customers; and
  • Managing stock and POS quantities and requirements.

Samuel Smith & Son is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic leader who is open to progressive efficient solutions. It is key that the new Warehouse Manager is adaptable to change. Through creativity and innovation there is flexibility to improve  and maximise operational workflow efficiencies. Your experience in a service based business, particularly in process review and compliance, will allow you to achieve this goal. 

Proven experience in people management will also be required, as you will need to be able to manage, support, encourage and inspire a small, close-knit team on a daily basis. Although you will not typically be liaising with external customers, you will need strong communication skills in order to collaborate with colleagues and convey your thoughts and ideas clearly to your team.
