About the Opportunity
Do you have a passion for fine wines and want to join the leading and award winning fine wine distributor in the industry?
Samuel Smith & Son has an exciting opportunity for a Territory Area Manager (Retail) to join their team in Alexandria, Sydney.
Reporting to the State Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for managing existing accounts within your territory and driving new business growth within the retail channel. The majority of your time will be spent in the field working throughout Sydney's eastern suburbs — Samuel Smith & Son's largest NSW territory.
More specifically, your day-to-day duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Territory and call cycle planning;
- Maximising wine sales within your existing customer base and prospecting for new customers;
- Completion of administration tasks including scheduled and ad-hoc reporting;
- Brand and product promotion including conducting trade and consumer tastings, display merchandising and handling stock orders and enquiries; and
- Identifying and implementing promotional opportunities and managing trade activation.
Samuel Smith & Son is looking for a self-motivated and driven sales professional with previous experience and success in a managing a large portfolio, preferably within the wine or hospitality industry. Your exceptional communication skills will complement your professional presentation, ensuring you service your customers to the highest standard. Importantly, you'll be highly organised and have the ability to work autonomously as you manage and grow this busy and high profile territory.
Your relationship management experience as well as your ability to develop a strong sales call cycle and sales plan for your accounts will see you succeed in this rare and exciting opportunity. Intermediate computer literacy is highly desirable as is experience with, or the ability to quickly learn how to use CRM software. Prior experience with Salesforce in particular would be highly advantageous.
