Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role in which you will provide casework services, while providing leadership to ensure that the team's services respond to the diverse and changing needs of the local community.

Some of your more specific responsibilities will be to:

  • Liaise with, and maintain links with, various stakeholders, communities, clients, sector forums, and networks to enhance program effectiveness.

The successful applicant will be a qualified Social Worker with experience in counselling. You'll also need a knowledge and understanding of the issues impacting on people from CALD communities, newly arrived and emerging communities including refugees and asylum seekers. You will demonstrate a proven track record in practicing a range of counselling interventions and working with interpreters.

Importantly, you will be able to demonstrate your experience in leading and managing teams, and be able to provide secondary consultations to staff with minimal experience in managing issues pertaining to Family and Domestic Violence.

Ideally you will have experience in working with people with complex health and social issues, and be computer literate and familiar with MS Office, internet, electronic client management systems and email.
