About the Organisation

The Royal Freemasons' Benevolent Institution was founded in 1880 with the sole intention of making the world a better place for all. Having been established for 130 years, the RFBI is the second-oldest benevolent institution formed in NSW to assist and support people in need, with over 1000 employees.

In recent years, the RFBI has extended its support and benevolence activities by providing retirement accommodation and lifestyle care facilities in village communities around NSW and the ACT. Today, the RFBI owns and operates 20 self-care villiages, 19 low care hostels, 4 high care nursing homes and 6 Community Aged Care Programs, caring for more than 2200 citizens in total. About the Opportunity

Royal Freemasons' Benevolent Institution has an exciting opportunity for a full-time General Manager to join their Masonic Village in Berry, NSW.

Reporting to the Regional General Manager, this role is primarily responsible for the day to day operation of the village and the supervision of all staff to ensure the delivery of quality nursing and ancillary care for all residents.

Within this multifaceted position, your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the finances of the village within budgetary guidelines;
  • Ensuring the village meets the standards of regulatory and funding organisations;
  • Establishing systems for the procurement, training and development of staff;
  • Ensuring optimum levels of on site health and safety through training and supervision;
  • Developing systems throughout the village to ensure services are effective and efficient; and
  • Participating in the development of future plans and objectives for the village.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven recent experience at Senior Management level in the Aged Care industry, supported by sound knowledge of the Aged Care industry including clinical care, legislation, accreditation and ACFI. It is essential that you are a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration. Qualifications in the area of gerontology, administration, and/or education will be an advantage, but are not essential. The ability to work within funding and budgetary confines in a must.

You'll be an excellent problem solver with strong conflict resolution skills, as well as sound decision making ability. Additionally, you will have advanced time management and organisational skills, allowing you to efficiently prioritise your workload and effectively meet competing deadlines and changing priorities. Excellent computer skills are a must.  

Applicants must be willing to undergo a police background check or hold a current Police Check certificate.
