About the Organisation

Founded in 1980, Australian Nursing Home Foundation (ANHF) is one of the largest Chinese aged care organisations in Australia. ANHF is a community-based, non-profit organisation founded with a vision to help support and care for the elderly in Australia's Chinese community. There is a particular focus on those with no close relatives in Australia or who have lost contact with their relatives overseas and are becoming increasingly socially isolated.

From those humble beginnings of one small nursing home, it has grown to be a well respected and recognised provider of aged care to the Chinese and Southeast Asian communities of the Sydney region, and is a model provider to the culturally and linguistically diverse communities of Sydney.

Over the course of 30 successful years, the Foundation has grown to over 400 staff and over 100 volunteers providing a range of community and residential services.

About the Opportunity

ANHF has a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated, passionate, and bilingual individual to join their team as a  Home Support Services Manager in Campsie, Sydney, NSW.

In this role you will be you will be responsible for the oversight and management of the various support services and day care centres run by ANHF to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided. You will be providing support and guidance to the Home Support Services Team while ensuring all funding and legislative requirements are adhered to. Additionally, you will be responsible for the financial management of the department.

Your day to day responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Providing leadership to the ANHF Home Support Services Team and subcontracting organisations;
  • Planning and monitoring the financial performance of Home Support Services cost centres;
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing systems and processes to ensure effective running of services;
  • Providing direct supervision and support to Home Support Services team leaders;
  • Ensuring all internal and external reporting and legislative requirments are adhered to; and
  • Building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships. 

To be considered for this role you will have extensive experience in managing community based organisations and will possess tertiary qualifications in an aged or disability care or a related field. You will be able to demonstrate your experience in planning and managing care programs and will have experience working with a broad range of government and NFP organisations.

As a strong communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills, your leadership and mentoring abilities will allow you to manage a diverse team of employees and volunteers. Importantly, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to provide support to a team to enable them to do their job, while also being able to explain and communicate complex ideas to help you develop and grow your team.

Your strong business acumen will see you able to effectively develop, monitor, and manage financial budgets, and your experience with funding and legislative reporting for care services will allow you to ensure all internal and external requirements are met. Additionally, your flexibility and innovative approach to work will enable you to manage change, while your passion, determination, energy will allow you to push through new ideas. 

Due to the nature of this role, being conversationally fluent in Cantonese is an essential requirement. A current driver's licence and national police check are also required for this role. You must also possess, or be willing to obtain, a Senior First Aid certificate.
