About the Opportunities

Due to increased funding and a growing number of new clients, St Carthage's Community Care currently has exciting opportunities for Community Care Workers to join their dedicated team in working throughout the Northern Rivers Region of NSW. St Carthage's Community Care are specifically looking for Disability Community Care Workers and Aged Care Community Care Workers throughout the Far North Coast of NSW. There are part time and casual opportunities available across a range of shifts including day time, evening, night/sleep over and weekend.

St Carthage’s provides services throughout the Northern Rivers region and the successful applicants will be based from home and will cover their local geographical area which will be between Tweed and Grafton and inland as far as Woodenbong.

You will provide specialised support to clients in aged care and disability services, including providing clients with flexible opportunities to enhance their independence and facilitating community participation.   

More specifically, some of your key duties and responsibilities will be to:

  • Advocate on issues in relation to older people and people with disabilities, and promote community awareness of their achievements;
  • Liaise with other St Carthage's services and external service providers;
  • Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality;
  • Participate in realising client dreams and aspirations; and
  • Provide client supervision and/or assistance in accordance with client wishes and funding guidelines including, but not limited to personal care domestic assistance and social support.

St Carthage's Community Care is seeking candidates with a Certificate III in Aged Care and or Certificate III in Disabilities coupled with a self-motivated attitude, well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and flexibility in both team and individual tasks.

Your understanding of Work Health and Safety, manual handling requirements and food handling procedures is important. You will have the ability to work autonomously and effectively with clients and the families of clients with complex needs. 

You will also need a current Drivers Licence, a reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance as well as a current First Aid Certificate.  

This role is subject to a Criminal Record Check prior to employment. The successful candidate must be available to work rostered shifts and respond to call outs when required.
