About the Opportunity
WD Surveys now has an excellent opportunity for a Surveying Associate to join their team based in Redcliffe, QLD. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday generally from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
As the new associate, you will be responsible for carrying out surveys to legislative requirements and to the expectations of the Principal and the Survey Manager.
More specifically, your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Preparing survey sketch plans in accordance with Queensland Surveyor legislation;
- Carrying out calculations for reinstatement of boundaries and set out of buildings and infra-structure services, as may be required for the project;
- Managing the quality and safety of projects;
- Liaising with clients, associated consultants, building foremen and Government departments; and
- Preparing reports and calculations, and maintaining records.
The successful candidate will be registered as a Surveying Associate with the Surveyors Board of Queensland and have at least two years' experience in that role. It is essential for you to demonstrate that you have the necessary experience in cadastral surveys (including strata-title surveys), engineering set-out surveys, building set-out surveys and topographic surveys. Additionally you'll require excellent skills in using a diverse range of surveying equipment, technologies and software, including Total Station Survey equipment. Although not essential, SDRMap and CivilCAD skills would be beneficial, as would the ability to use GPS and Robotic Total Station equipment.
WD Surveys is seeking a professional, self-motivated and autonomous candidate, who can effectively complete a wide range of surveying duties with minimal supervision. You will be the type of person to seek out additional work once finished with your current task. You'll be well organised, have excellent problem solving skills and demonstrate the ability to use initiative when managing competing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills will be key to this role, enabling you to liaise confidently with clients, associated consultants, building foremen and Government departments. You will be working both independently and as part of a team. As such, you will need to be able to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively with others.
Please Note: This position requires you to possess a C-Class Manual Driver's Licence.
