About the Opportunity
St Ives now has fantastic opportunities for caring and dependable Support Workers (Community Aged Care) to join their team. These roles are based across Sydney, mainly in Cabramatta, Northern Beaches and North Ryde. These are permanent part-time roles.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for providing direct care services to clients in their homes, including domestic assistance, personal care, social support, transportation and meal preparation.
More specifically, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Providing services to clients as directed, in accordance with schedules and support plans;
- Demonstrating the utmost respect for the client and their environment;
- Promoting maximum client independence through a wellness approach to service provision;
- Being aware of and communicating any changes regarding client condition, abilities and/or needs;
- Using electronic systems as required; and
- Providing mentoring to colleagues as required.
St Ives is seeking applicants who possess a relevant qualification in Aged Care, Community Care or similar, along with demonstrated experience working within the aged care industry. You will also have a solid understanding of basic health care practices and procedures.
In order to be successful as a Support Worker, it is essential you have well developed interpersonal skills, allowing you to develop and maintain effective working and client relationships. A key aspect of these roles is the ability to relate to, and empathise with, the people you are caring for. You will be a compassionate, caring individual with a passion for helping others. Your friendly disposition and cooperative attitude, along with strong communication skills, will ensure you develop rapport with clients. Acting as a companion for many clients, these roles will require patience and active listening.
Due to the nature of this role, St Ives is looking for individuals who are able to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision. You will be a self-starter with sound judgement skills, with the ability to react to situations appropriately as they arise. It is extremely important that you be professional and respectful at all times when working with individuals and their property.
As St Ives has clusters of clients throughout Cabramatta, Northern Beaches and North Ryde, it is essential you be willing to travel frequently.
Please Note: These positions require candidates to have a reliable vehicle and insurance, current driver's license and federal police clearance.
