About the Organisation

Royal Freemasons' Benevolent Institution was founded in 1880, the RFBI is the second-oldest benevolent institution formed in NSW to assist and support people in need.

In recent years, the RFBI has extended its support and benevolence activities by providing retirement accommodation and lifestyle care facilities in village communities around NSW and the ACT. Today there are 22 RFBI villages. About the Opportunity

RFBI has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Care Manager (Registered Nurse) to join their dynamic team in the 63 bed facility in West Wyalong, NSW. 

Reporting to the General Manager, this role is primarily responsible for the provision of care for residents of the aged care facility and the supervision of nursing and ancillary care staff. 

Within this position, your key responsibilities will also include (but will not be limited to):

  • Ensuring standards of Regulatory and Funding Organisations are met;
  • Evaluating resident care and ensuring that resident care is in accordance with recognised professional standards;
  • Overseeing resident admission/departure processes;
  • Liaising with the General Manager on financial aspects of admission processes;
  • Ensuring accurate documentation procedures relating to ACFI are followed;
  • Attaining the objectives of the Accreditation Standards; and
  • Co-ordinating with the General Manager and Management Committee in setting objectives and goals for the facility.

To apply for this position, you must be a Registered Nurse with demonstrated experience in aged care or significant clinical experience in a care environment.

A general knowledge of ACFI Funding (Aged Care Funding Instrument) and Commonwealth Standards and Guidelines, as well as the concept of QCI and accreditation, would be highly regarded.

As you will be required to supervise staff as well as coordinate meetings and reviews with the multidisciplinary team, you will need to demonstrate a high degree of initiative, as well as developed interpersonal skills and a creative, progressive and innovative management style. Furthermore, your communication skills will enable you to provide high-level grief and loss counselling to residents and families.
