About the organisation

Women's Shelter Armidale is an organisation that acts to empower women to access safe and stable accommodation in a space free from domestic violence or abuse. They target young women over 16 years, single women and women with children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This includes women and families affected by domestic and family violence. A range of services are offered by WSA, including client centred homelessness support including prevention and early intervention, rapid rehousing, crisis and transitional accommodation and intensive responses for women and families with complex needs. Their experienced caseworkers tailor high quality, client-centred support services spanning across the New England area of NSW, including Armidale, Guyra, Uralla & Walcha.

About the opportunity

Womens’s Shelter Armidale is seeking applications from a passionate, dedicated individual to join their team as the Manager, Homelessness Support Services.

In this highly rewarding and pivotal role you will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the shelter to ensure it functions in an ethical, effective and efficient manner.

Your main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Ensuring the provision of a range of high quality support services to women and children who have experienced, or who are at risk of experiencing homelessness and abuse.
  • Overseeing and managing the delivery of high quality client services;
  • Developing and maintaining a range of quality client services;
  • Developing polices and protocols to guide the work of the organisation;
  • Ensuring the accurate completion, execution and compliance of funding grant proposals and acquittals;
  • Overseeing the management of financial resources, budgets and assets; and
  • Providing Human Resource Management for organisation staff.

To be considered for this role you will hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, and will have considerable experience working in a supervisory or management level position. You’ll have an extensive history of providing support to women and children who have experienced, or who are at risk of experiencing homelessness and abuse, and will be dedicated to the eradication of homelessness and domestic violence, and the empowerment of women.

You’ll have a well-rounded set of management skills, including financial management, HR management, and organisational management skills. With fantastic communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to effortlessly lead a diverse, multidisciplinary team and effectively build strong relationships.

Importantly, your care, compassion, and dedication to your clients will drive and shape everything you do, and you will be fully committed to using appropriate ethical principles to drive the work you do.

A current drivers licence is essential for this position.
