About the Opportunity

The Parenting Research Centre (PRC) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Project Officer to join their Melbourne based team. 

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you'll be responsible for making contributions to tender development and towards the integration of operations and quality management systems of the PRC.  

More specifically, some of your key duties will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Writing and preparing tender and grant applications;
  • Assisting in developing project plans, budgets and relevant business models;
  • Coordinating people resources required to complete applications;
  • Providing support and expertise to other project staff on project management systems, tools and methodologies;
  • Assisting in the preparation, monitoring and reporting of service agreement deliverables; and
  • Providing leadership in Quality Management activities within PRC.

To be considered for this role, you'll have first and foremost exceptional written and verbal commications skills. These are essential for this role to ensure high quality and accuracy in report writing and tender and grant applications. With excellent interpersonal skill, you'll be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, and be able to liaise with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies and Qualifications or training in Project Management or relation field are essential. In addition, you'll be able to demonstrate experience in successfully planning, implementing and reviewing complex and mulitfaceted projects to deliver effective outcomes on-time, and within budgets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including such as Visio and MS project will be required.

Importantly, you'll also have a good understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement including experience in development and coordination of Quality Management Systems.

Your ability to work under pressure will see you succeed in this fast paced and dynamic role. Additionally, knowledge and an understanding of an evidence based approach to addressing issues facing families caring for children with high and complex needs will be highly regarded, as will experience in mentoring and managing staff.
