About the Opportunity

Mid North Christian College has an exciting opportunity for a full time or part time Administration and Public Relations Officer to join their faculty in Port Pirie, SA.

In this position, you will be able to transfer your acquired skills and knowledge, together with your Christian faith into your work life, where you will be responsible for supporting the promotion of the College through a variety of public relations and administration duties.

In addition, the duties of this role may include (but not be limited to):

  • Developing and disseminating promotional materials, including the facilitation of print and television advertising;
  • Producing the fortnightly College Newsletter;
  • Performing reception and clerical duties;
  • Maintaining the College website;
  • Acting as the point of contact for media enquiries; and
  • Administering First Aid.

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have experience and skills in producing marketing materials. If you do not come from a marketing related field or background, but have experience in a relevant or related field, you will have an adaptability for learning new software in order to successfully learn processes in the schools' marketing methods. Some of these software applications include MS Office, page layout and design programs. 

In addition, sound numerical skills such as balancing and receipting will be highly regarded. While beneficial, previous experience in school-based administration is not a requirement of this position.

Mid North Christian College is looking for a skilled, honest individual with integrity who possesses a strong commitment to the Christian faith, has a good understanding of students' needs at different ages and enjoys working with a diverse range of age groups. The successful candidate will have well developed written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail, enabling them to produce written materials to a very high standard. Interpersonal skills, confidence and adaptability will be essential when liaising with the media and other stakeholders to promote a positive and professional image of the College to the wider community.

This role will suit a highly organised individual, who can bring flexibility and initiative to all their tasks. A strong work ethic, and the ability to perform well whether unsupervised or as part of a team is essential.

Please note: The successful applicant will be required to undertake training to gain their Senior First Aid certificate and Mandated Notification, if they do not already hold these.
