About the Opportunity

Childrenfirst now has an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader - Early Intervention Program to join their professional team based in Blacktown.

As the project coordinator, you will manage a multi-disciplinary team of allied health professionals in delivering essential early intervention services to children with disabilities and their families. Specifically, you will be responsible for the planning, budgeting, reporting and quality of services delivered by the Early Learning Team.

Reporting to the Executive Manager (Projects), your primary duties will include:

  • Managing the delivery of services within the Early Learning Team against eight service level agreements with Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC);
  • Oversee service delivery and ensure that all services run smoothly and to contract;
  • Plan and budget for services;
  • Recruit and develop staff;
  • Ensure the quality of service provision and report on all aspects of service delivery;  and
  • Strategic development of current services.

Working across six support programs, and with the opportunity to re-shape service provision, this role offers plenty of variety and challenge as the section moves towards the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). As such, working knowledge of Disability Sector developments, particularly the transition to the NDIS is desirable.

A passion for children, families and the community is most critical for success in this role. In addition, the successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Allied Health or a related field. Previous pediatric experience working with children with disabilities and their families is essential, as is experience working with Aboriginal children, families and organizations.

With proven ability to manage community-based projects in a management capacity, you will also have strong financial management skills and the ability to effectively manage a diverse team of professionals.

This dynamic role will perfectly suit someone who enjoys working across a variety of education and community settings and who possesses the flexibility to travel around Western Sydney and the Nepean/Blue Mountains region. Due to the nature of this role, candidates are also required to have a valid driver's licence, complete immunization record and possession of a Blue Card.

Childrenfirst believes in positivity and teamwork. As such, we are looking for someone who is friendly and approachable. Not only will you be a strong communicator and willing team player, you will also inspire confidence in others and assist them in reaching their full potential.
