About the Opportunity 

drummond street has a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Better Access / ATAPS Practitioner (Child) to deliver psychological interventions to children and individuals under the Better Access program.

Joining our Family Services, Western Region team in Wyndham, you will actively contribute to the mission, objectives, values and culture of our organization through the provision of high quality support and practice. 

Key responsibilities of this pivotal role include:

  • Assess risk and protective factors using appropriate measures and clinical tools;
  • Develop and implement case plans for children (0-12yrs) in collaboration with the client and their family;
  • Provide appropriate referrals and work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to facilitate treatments, programs and achieve positive outcomes;   
  • Complete all documentation and participate in case review meetings; and  
  • Develop and deliver training to community members, partners and broader sector.  

To qualify, you will be a registered Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Mental Health Social Worker. With working knowledge of the determinants of mental health and high-level counselling skills, the successful candidate will also have two years' experience providing psychologist interventions to children and their families. A valid Medicare Provider Number and completion of Child Mental Health ATAPS training is also required.   

This role is well suited to someone who is organised, client-focused and who can effectively manage tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high degree of self-awareness and professionalism. You will also demonstrate a positive, creative and collaborative approach to the delivery of support services.
