About the Opportunity

Premier Youthworks has a rewarding opportunity for a Registered Psychologist to join their dynamic team on a full time basis. Working in a Residential care environment, you will lead a team of clinicians in providing therapeutic advice and support to the organisation’s high-need clients.

More specifically, you will lead the team through;

  • Assessing clients’ presenting clinical issues and support needs, identifying appropriate matching models of service delivery;
  • Providing expert assistance to develop strategies and guide and monitor the implementation of such strategies;
  • Providing risk assessments in relation to support needs and behaviour;
  • Providing a range of therapeutic training modules; and
  • Overseeing targeted direct therapy with clients. 

The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, alongside a demonstrated experience in the areas of needs assessment, planning and behaviour intervention. Knowledge and understanding of trauma and abuse, child and adolescent mental health, brain injury, mental health, disability, alcohol and other drug-related issues would be highly regarded.

You will have a background in providing advice, professional opinions and judgements on clinical issues affecting young people with high support needs and challenging behaviours. Additionally, you will have the ability to develop, deliver and evaluate staff training and provide clinical supervision to provisional psychologists within the team.

Most importantly, you will be a passionate, dedicated and driven practitioner, with strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Your skills in investigation, analysis and problem solving will be invaluable within this position.

Please note: A current driver's licence is essential to this role.
